Conscious choices to stay healthy

The Tool4MEDLife project was presented at the University of the Third Age, with the aim of promoting informed dietary choices that meet the nutritional needs of the elderly population, in line with the Mediterranean diet. The session focused on the importance of diet as a tool for prevention.
In particular, attention was drawn to:
- Age-related physiological changes
- The need to meet nutritional requirements
- The importance of regular hydration
- The choice of simple, fresh, varied and seasonal foods
The session included several practical activities:
- Guided analysis of food labels to encourage more informed shopping
- Examples of simple, balanced meals that highlight local traditions
- Identifying appropriate portion sizes
- Strategies to ensure adequate daily water intake
The session generated considerable interest, confirming the extent to which nutrition education serves as a tool for promoting health and prevention.
