Tool4MEDLife at PRIMA’s ‘Project Day 2024’: Innovation and Collaboration for the Mediterranean

The Tool4MEDLife project team enthusiastically took part in ‘Project Day 2024’, organised by PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area), an institution dedicated to funding projects that promote the sustainable use of natural resources, economic growth and stability in the Mediterranean region. The event took place in Barcelona on 22 and 23 October, bringing together experts, researchers and high-profile stakeholders for a constructive discussion on future developments in applied research in the region.

PRIMA’s commitment: innovation for the Mediterranean

PRIMA continues to distinguish itself as a promoter of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. During ‘Project Day 2024’, the organisation emphasised the importance of an integrated approach to research and development in order to address the major challenges facing the Mediterranean. This commitment translates not only into sharing good practices and tangible results, but also into building a strong network between partners from different sectors.

Tool4MEDLife: promoting the Mediterranean Diet and food awareness

Tool4MEDLife is one of the projects selected and funded by PRIMA in the context of the European Research and Innovation Programme. Its main objective is to promote the Mediterranean Diet, which is recognised globally as a sustainable and healthy food model. The project also aims to better understand the influences of healthy eating practices by analyzing food habits and socio-economic factors. It also aims to increase consumer awareness of the nutritional properties of specific foods that are crucial for health and well-being, while developing new foods and innovative tools that support conscious food choices, fostering a deeper connection between tradition and science.

A crucial event for the future of the Mediterranean

Tool4MEDLife’s participation in ‘Project Day 2024’ was a unique opportunity to share project progress, learn from the experiences of other participants and forge new collaborations. During the two days of meetings, the team had the opportunity to present its initiatives and dialogue with academic, industrial and institutional partners, helping to consolidate an interdisciplinary network capable of generating concrete impacts.

The Mediterranean as a model of sustainability

Events such as Project Day 2024 demonstrate how the Mediterranean can serve as a living laboratory for projects that combine sustainability, innovation and tradition. Thanks to PRIMA’s support, the Tool4MEDLife project continues its journey towards a future in which the Mediterranean Diet is not only a cultural heritage to be preserved, but also a vehicle for promoting health and sustainability on a global level.
