Mobile Apps

The Tool4MEDLife mobile applications were developed to support users in applying Mediterranean Diet principles to everyday meal planning and food choices. The mobile app system, called MangiarSanoApp, helps users compose balanced meals, receive real-time feedback and monitor their dietary habits over time. Rather than functioning only as a food diary, the app acts as an educational and decision-support tool that guides users while they build their meals.

Main functions

The mobile app supports three main user activities:

Validated recipes used in the app come from our e-cookbook.

Two interface options

MangiarSanoApp is available in two interface styles, designed to match different user preferences.

MangiarSanoApp P1 — visual and guided

MangiarSanoApp P1 is a more visual and guided version. It uses images, step-by-step support and clear visual feedback to help users understand meal balance. This version is especially useful for users who prefer more visual guidance or who benefit from additional support during meal composition.

MangiarSanoApp P2 — minimalist and efficient

MangiarSanoApp P2 is a more minimalist and efficient version. It focuses on quick input, reduced visual complexity and simple interpretation of feedback. This version is suitable for users who prefer a faster and more direct interaction style.

Educational value

The app helps users translate Mediterranean Diet recommendations into concrete daily decisions. It supports meal planning, food awareness, self-monitoring and progressive learning through practice. For deeper explanations of the nutritional concepts behind the app, visit our e-learning platform.

Target groups

Adults, young adults, families, educators and users interested in improving their eating habits through digital support.

The mobile apps connect nutritional knowledge with daily behaviour, helping users make more informed and balanced food choices in real time.
